Capacity building training is being provided on criminal law and related proclamations regarding the 6th national election.
The training was organized by the University Law School in collaboration with the Attorney General of the Southern Region. It is said to support efforts to ensure a fair and peaceful election.
Wolayita Sodo University, as a stakeholder, is undertaking many activities to ensure a fair and peaceful election for the 6th round of national elections to be held in the country in 2013.
With this in mind, the University Law School, in collaboration with the Attorney General of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region (SNNPR), is providing capacity-building training on criminal law and related proclamations to 205 prosecutors and police officers from the state.
Elections one month later and before the voting process begins; To prevent possible crimes during the election and after the election, and to take immediate action when crimes are committed; It is also a capacity building training designed to bring perpetrators to justice.
The University Law School has previously collaborated with the Attorney General of the Southern Region on weapons management; It will be recalled that it has provided training to stakeholders on hate speech and false information.
